I’ve always loved science for the way it explains the world around us, from the smallest molecules to the biggest systems. That curiosity led me to earn a B.S. in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology from UC Santa Cruz and later a Ph.D. in Chemistry & Chemical Biology from UCSF. Today, I work as a chemist at UC Berkeley, where I continue exploring the cutting edge of research while also pursuing one of my greatest passions: teaching.

My tutoring and teaching journey began with elementary to high school students, but over the years I’ve also taught undergraduates and graduate students in a variety of settings.

At UCSF, I served as an associate course instructor for graduate-level organic chemistry, guiding students through one of the most challenging courses in the curriculum. Through UCSF’s Science & Health Partnership program, I worked with K–12 students in San Francisco public schools, designing lessons that showed how exciting and approachable science can be. Seeing younger students light up when a concept came to life in a lab setting was just as rewarding as helping advanced students push through difficult material.

These experiences reinforced my belief that effective tutoring is about more than just getting the right answers—it’s about building confidence, nurturing curiosity, and developing long-term problem-solving skills. I strive to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, learning from mistakes, and growing both academically and personally.

A fun fact about me is that I was an Eagle Scout back in the day. I still love spending time in nature and traveling when I’m not tutoring.
